You can add blogs to your online store, and then post to the blogs to update your customers about your business or products. Blog posts drive traffic to your site in several different ways:
- Improve your store's Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- Let you tell stories that convert visitors into customers.
- Increase customer engagement.

Managing blogs template
Below you will find an instruction on how to edit your blog template (the display of all blog posts together). To learn how to add individual blogs and edit the display of a single blog, please refer to the Blog posts ↗ article.
Steps
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes ↗.
- Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.
- Select the template that you want to edit by clicking Home page > Blogs > Default blog.
- Click Blog posts under the Template. You will now see the customization options for your blog grid.
- (Optional) Check Show blog title if you want to display your blog section title. To edit the blog title, go to Online Store > Blog posts > Manage blogs. Select the blog and change the title. Click Save.
- There are two ways of displaying the blog post cards on desktop (Desktop layout):
- Grid layout will display all blog posts side by side. They will all be the same size.
- Collage option will make some of the posts take up the full screen width, providing you with a more interactive design.
- (Optional) You can hide the featured image on all blog posts by unchecking the Show featured image field.
- (Optional) When the Grid layout is selected and Show featured image is checked, you can now choose the Image ratio. Available options are: adapt to image, portrait, and square.
- (Optional) When the Grid layout is selected and Show featured image is checked, you can change Featured article layout by choosing Small, Medium, or Large. This will change the size of the latest blog post accordingly.
- (Optional) You have the ability to show the date on your blog posts. Make sure the Show date field is checked.
- (Optional) You have the ability to show the author on your blog posts. Make sure the Show author field is checked.
- (Optional) You have the ability to show the excerpt your blog posts. Make sure the Show excerpt field is checked. Change excerpts by editing your blog posts ↗.
- (Optional) You have the ability to show the cta in your blog posts. Make sure the Show cta field is checked.
- (Optional) You have the ability to show the comments count. Make sure the Show comments count field is checked.
- (Optional) You can change both top and bottom section padding (the empty space above and below the section) and set it anywhere from 0px to 100px.

- Click Add block and Add section buttons to expand your template. Read more about Sections and blocks ↗.
- When you're satisfied with your section, click Save.
